Though I was not personally affected by the layoffs, I knew many people that were. I became very involved in phone banking to encourage people to vote for the second contract.
Ken and Tom Comanzo were at PEF Headquarters most of the nights I was there cheering us on. Ken truly cares about the members. I know that if my job was ever affected, Members 1st would be there to help me out.
I know we are not out of the woods yet with the layoffs. The economy is not going to bounce back overnight. I would feel much better having Ken as President than Sue Kent. Ken has the knowledge and experience to negotiate effectively with Cuomo in this difficult fiscal climate.
